Dr. Tabitha Dell’Angelo, coordinator of the Urban Education program has established a new partnership with an organization called “Tiny Superheroes”. Check out the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVsIhJtRRNY. They make superhero capes for children who are ill or struggling in some way. Many of the children with whom we work could use such a cape. Now our Urban Education majors will be contributing to this effort by making superhero masks. Tiny Superheroes has given Dr. Dell’Angelo the instructions and pattern and Dr. Jerry Petroff has generously donated some funding to buy a sewing machine and supplies to get started.
This project will be centered in room 105-The Urban Education Office in the Education Building. Dr. Dell’Angelo will be setting up hours when students can come by and work on the masks. This will be a signature project for the Urban Ed program this academic year.
